An incomplete and corroded Iron Age to Roman copper-alloy Rosette brooch of the sub-keyhole type (AD 20-AD 60).
The pin is missing.
The brooch consists of a main sub-circular plate with bulbous head and a trapezoidal or flaring leg.
The flat plate, c. 20.0mm high, 23.2mm wide and 3.0mm thick is sub-circular in plan and has an off-centre circular hole, 3.4mm in diameter. It may have originally had side lugs. A Roman, black-burnished 1, wall fragment from a bowl, hand formed, with fine, hard, dark grey/black surfaces. The fabric is reduced, dark grey, close-grained, with fine voids, oxide, calcite, mica and possibly slate inclusions. Fractures are irregular. It is dated to between c150 to c300 AD and is lightly abraded. The length is 45 mm, width 39 mm, thickness 6 mm and the weight, 13.17 gms.

A probable Roman, black-burnished 2, everted rim fragment from a large bowl, wheel thrown, with smooth, hard, grey, micaceous surfaces. The fabric is reduced, lighter grey, close-grained and with many fine voids, calcite, ferrous and mica inclusions. Fractures are regular. It is dated to between c120 to c250 AD and is moderately abraded. The length is 38 mm, width 68 mm, thickness 17 mm (at the rim), rim diameter is 180 mm and the weight, 31.63g.

A broken handle from an amphora, Roman period, with soft, rough surface. The fabric light brown/orange both inside and out, mica rich, with calcite and fine grit inclusions. One internal (before breakage) fissure has 4 very fine, light-coloured hairs c1mm long. The surface is porous with several large voids.
