A cut quarter / cut farthing of Henry II - Tealby Coinage - due to the nature of the cut quarter the coin cannot be further identified - the obverse shows a small area of the lower right hand side of the bust which suggests that it is more likely to be later within the coinage - Bust C, D or F. whilst the reverse inscription suggests the moneyer's name started with PI - this relatively rare name suggests the coin maybe a product of the following moneyers / mints: Colchester: Pieres London: Pieres, Pieres Mer & Pieres Sal Northampton: Pieres Norwich Picot

The base of a Roman period Oxford Colour-Coated ware vessel, dating to the period c. AD 240-300. A rouletted band runs round the interior floor of the pot and in the centre is a stamped cartouche containing a sequence of diagonal lines or chevrons and occasional vertical lines interspersed with pellets; this is not an uncommon occurance on locally made pottery and although it is considered to be a maker's stamp it does not name the maker and may not be able to be matched with other known stamps from the Oxford industry. There is an incised 'X' on the exterior of the base. The vessel h…

This is a quillon / cross guard that consists of a thick copper alloy bar that is oval in plan and curved in profile. A rectangular hole in the centre measures 27mm by 7mm and is where the tang would have passed through. Both arm are gently curved downwards and taper to with slightly expanded globular terminal. On the forward edge of the cross-guard has a deep U-shaped groove that runs the length of the guard, the depth of the groove diminishes as it reached each terminal, this groove is where the blade would have sat. See GLO-5EA688, WMID-301533 and KENT-75F808 for similar examples.
