An incomplete, broken and misshapen Medieval copper-alloy composite buckle frame with an integral forked spacer (c. 1350-c. 1450). The loop is a Meols Type 3/4. The plates and the pin are missing. The oval frame is bevelled externally on the upper face and has a triangular lip at the centre of the outer edge. The prongs are incomplete due to breaks. Adjacent to the loop, the prongs are oval in cross-section and beyond this part they are stepped in plan and rectangular in cross-section. An incomplete and slightly misshapen Medieval to post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle with cusped or serrated outer edges (c. 1450-c. 1600). The pin and strap plate are missing. Each loop is similar with serrated outer edges. Six triangular notches have been removed from the outer edges to create the serrated effect. The buckle frame is drab green. A fragment of a Roman Trumpet Brooch c.AD75-150. The fragmnet consists of only the head being broken across the bow; the lower bow is lost. The reverse face of the head is divided by a single vertical bar which has been pierced to hold the coiled spring and pin; this spring / pin is lost. The pierced hole is also damaged. On the head of the brooch is a small abraded projection / head spike. Originally there would have been a cast decoration that is now lost due to abrasion and corrosion removing all surface patina. Incomplete copper alloy Colchester Rearhook fantail foot type Roman brooch. Stub of forward loop at the head with short wings either side of the bow. The underside of the spring cover has remnants of solder on both wings. The undecorated straight bow is 0.9mm thick and rectangular in cross-section. The head end of the bow is positioned directly over the wings from where it fans outwards to the catchplate end from a 10mm width at the head to 15mm at the foot. A fragment of a copper alloy post-medieval (AD c.1640-c.1800) spur, consisting of one of the terminals, a short length of one of the sides and one of the hooked attachment fittings. Overall, the spur fragment measures 47.1mm long, 13.4mm wide and 8.5mm thick. It weighs 7.47g. The surviving part of the side of the spur is D-shaped in section (convex on the external face and only slighty convex on the internal face. Medieval ceramic vessel body sherd with no abrasion. The hackly gritty brown red fabric can't be scratched with a thumbnail, is fully oxidised, and has remnants of an external splash glaze. The glaze is a green yellow colour. The fabric has numerous well sorted inclusions ranging from sub angular to rounded and mostly about 1mm in size. These grains are largely a mix of quartz, quartzite, & mica. There are a few voids where inclusions have been displaced. Probably dates from c1150 to c1300 AD. The length is 14mm, width 11mm, thickness 3.9mm, and mass 0.84g.

A medieval (1200-1400) copper alloy oval buckle frame with incomplete sheet copper alloy pin, missing its tip. The outside edge is triangular in shape with a pair of transverse grooves at the centre for the pin. The frame is cracked to one side. The pin is curled at the edges as it narrows to the (old) break. It measures 25.7x31.0mm and weighs 4.35g. The internal measurement of the loop is 16.2x23.7mm.
