An incomplete, cast, copper alloy candlestick of Late Medieval or Post Medieval date. Only the upright stem of the candlestick remains. The stem has a cylindrical body with a wider cylindrical socket at the top to hold the candle. It is 97mm high, with the socket being 21mm of this. The socket is decorated with three shallow ribs about 2mm wide, one just below the plain rim, one mid-way down, and one at the bottom. The top two ribs have narrow grooves either side. Medieval (AD 1150 to AD1400) rotary key: The copper alloy key has a quatrefoil bow which has four circular perforations and slight grooves forming definition of the petals. At the terminal of the bow there is an integral, perpendicular projection which is circular and has a transverse ridge. This projection is incomplete, and the break is not too recent. The junction of the shank and bow has a swollen collar with a ridge bordering the collar. The shank is oval in decoration, tapers very slightly to a worn and possibly broken edge. A post medieval cast copper alloy leather mount dating to c.1600-1700. Leaf like in form and flat in profile with a pointed top and a slightly flared base. There are two sets of symmetrical extension 'wings' on both sides. The top pair are semi-circular and the lower pair are elongated triangular. A ceramic post medieval sherd from the West Somerset Donyatt potteries dating to the period c. AD 1700 - 1750. The sherd is from a dish and comprises part of the base, the body and the rim. It exhibits a double beaded, thumb frilled rim. The bell is marked with the maker or founder's initials WG (William Gwynn AD 1770-1813). The bell was made at the Gwynne foundry in Aldbourne.
