Mesolithic flint tranchet axehead, no cortex present, all surfaces are recorticated over what appears to be a poor quality, mixed grey, flint. The implement.has a lozenge section, keeled on both sides, the flaking is coarse. The cutting edge was formed by the removal of the eponymous 'tranchet' flakes but has suffered some minor damage in antiquity. Both side edges are battered and show bands of hackly facture which appear to have been an original feature. .Length 144mm, Width 55mm, Thickness 35mm, Mass 240.6g

The general section is lozenge shaped, the flaking is coarse, bifacial flaking. The cutting edge appears damaged but was formed by the removal of single flakes on both faces; the eponymous 'tranchet' flakes. Incomplete Roman gilt copper alloy discoidal plate brooch, with the spring, pin, parts of the catchplate and single pin lug, fragments of the edge and of the front surface and the probably glass centre-boss missing.
