A complete but damaged cast copper-alloy spherical animal "crotal" bell from the Post-Medieval period of circa AD 1600-1800. The upper and lower hemispheres are divided by a prominant circumferential joining rib. The upper hemisphere has two circular sound holes about mid-way either side of the sub-rectangular suspension loop.The lower hemisphere has a worn sunburst pattern and possibly a faint W foundry mark. A Medieval copper alloy buckle of c. AD 1250-1400 date. The buckle has a single oval loop with to biforcated knops on the outer edge. The buckle has a fixed plate with a circular perforation of centre, through which a copper alloy pin is fixed. A circular rivet is still present in the center of the strap plate. The plate terminates in an old break. A similar example can be seen in Whitehead, page 34 ref 200. The buckle is 25.6mm long, 14.9mm wide, 3.3mm thick and weighs 2.8 grams.
