An incomplete post-Medieval to Modern copper-alloy and gilded military button (1859-1921). A button of the Isle of Wight Artillery and Infantry Volunteer Corps. The button is circular in plan, convex at the front and concave at the rear. At the front it has a raised design consisting of a medieval drum tower with I*W*V in serifed capitals below (Isle of Wight Volunteers). It has a six-pointed 'star' at each side of the letter W. A Medieval copper-alloy composite (possibly) strap-end (c. 1300-c. 1400). This strap-end is sub-rectangular in plan with a sub-lozenge terminal apparently consists of two separate sheets. However, it is possible that it may have originally formed a single sheet and folded lengthways. There is no rivet to secure them together. The strap-end has coarse surfaces and is green and light brown. Length: 39.1mm; width: 14.0mm; overall thickness: 2.4mm. Weight 4.49g.

An incomplete Medieval cast copper-alloy single loop buckle (c. 1270-c. 1350). The pin is missing. The frame is oval in shape with an offset narrowed strap bar. The outer edge is expanded and recessed to accommodate a copper-alloy sheet roller on which the pin would have rested. The roller is inscribed with oblique parallel grooves. The misshapen bar is roughly square in cross-section. Length: 19.3mm; width: 23.3mm; thickness: 4.2mm. Weight: 3.47g. A complete Medieval copper-alloy harness pendant suspension mount (c. 1200-c. 1400). The suspension mount is sub-rectangular in plan, and generally sub-triangular in cross-section, flat at the rear. At each end there is lobe with an elongated knop which is hemispherical in cross-section. The lobes are pierced with holes to accommodate iron rivets. The weight bears a design of a clinker built single-masted sailing vessel with standing rigging, a fore and after castle and a pennant flying at the mast head. The horse, which is galloping to the right, is well defined and has a small head with ears missing. The eye or mouth is not portrayed. An incomplete sheet copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. The surviving fragment is flat, rectangular in form, and terminates on at least one edge in old breaks. At one corner (bottom?) is a single circule rivet hole. The front face has incised decoration comprising a possible black letter N, the gaps between the arms of the letter filled with rocker decoration. It comprises a flat, quatrefoil shaped plate, missing the integral suspension loop at the outer edge of one foil due to old breaks. A cast copepr-alloy buckle frame of Medieval date. It is as Meols type 4 with D-shaped frame that has an offset and narrowed rectangular bar and an expanded outer edge. At the centre of the outer edge is a projecting triangular pin rest with central groove. The entire object measures 20.81mm in width, 16.77mm in length, 2.28mm in thickness, and 1.82g in weight. This buckle frame is of Medieval date, c.14th century AD.
