A post-Medieval sheet copper-alloy sword scabbard chape or fitting (1700-1800).
This object is 'U'-shaped in plan and the upper part has been folded through 180° to form a 'back plate'. At the base of the butted seam a soldered copper-alloy attachment loop contains a free running copper-alloy ring. The ring has an outer diameter of 21.6mm and its thickness is 2.8mm. The front is decorated with a 'U'-shaped border consisting of an outer line of kidney-shaped stamped marks and an inner line of stamped contiguous annulets. The part of the cutting edge of a Late Bronze Age socketed axehead dating from about 1000 - 800 BC. The cutting edge is worn and rounded. It is wider than the rest of the axe; the sides curve inwards. The break is patinated suggesting the axe has been broken in the ground for a long time.

An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy mount (c. 1600-c. 1700).
This mount is convex at the front and concave at the rear. It has straight ends, concave sides and oblique corners. Close to each concave side are three evenly spaced holes. The front has an inscribed floriate design. The rear face has a spike at one end and the stub of another at the opposite end.
The mount is reddish brown with traces of a green patina.
Height: 37.1mm; width: 29.1mm; thickness: 3.0mm; thickness including spike: 5.6mm. Weight: 11.84g.
