An incomplete, cast copper alloy, Roman brooch. This is a Dolphin type brooch with hinge mechansim.The fragment consists of the bow and the head. The brooch is hevaily corroded but there are faint remains of decorative ribs around the head, either side of the bow. The head is cylindrical with a central recess where the pin was attached to the axle bar, which is still present in the central peircing. The brooch has a mid green patina.
