An incomplete rectangular buckle plate from the Medieval period, Circa 1150-1350 . The sub-rectangular upper plate would have been attached to the now-missing back plate via the two tabs, which would have been folded around the frame's axis bar. the slot between these tabs would have accommodated the pinJust to the right of centre is a rivet hole which has been pierced from the back of the plate. A two-piece copper-alloy sheet metal strap-end from the Medieval period, Circa 1250-1450 . The strap-end comprises two joined sub-rectangular plates which converge to a point at the bottom. An in situ copper-alloy rivet joins the two plates together at this bottom end; at the top end, both plates have a portion missing from their edge, which may be the remains of opposing rivet holes.The object has a glossy green patina with impacted soil between the plates, and iron corrosion adheres to the upper end of one of the plates. Incomplete copper alloy Medieval annular buckle or possibly brooch pin. The pin is broken across the loop where it would attach to the frame. There are two transverse ridges on the upper surface of the pin adjacent to the loop. The pin has a rectangular cross-section and tapers wedge-like in thickness to a broad point. Similar pins are shown in Egan and Pritchard; Dress Accessories 1150-1450; p115; and date to circa 1300-1500 AD. Dimensions; 48.22mm long, thickness 7.28mm, width 4.28.
