A corroded, worn and pierced Post Medieval Nuremberg jetton, struck by Hans Krauwinkel II, dating from about 1588 to 1589 AD. It is one of the Franco-allegorical jettons (Mitchiner type D); on the obverse are Procris and Cephalus and on the reverse is Minerva (see Mitchiner 1988 p 452, 1607a). The jetton is pierced with a rectangular hole measuring 2.7mm by 1.9mm at 12o'clock on the obverse. It measures 26.5mm (diameter) x 1mm (thickness) and weighs 2.1g. It has a brown patina with a patch of thick green corrosion and is slightly bent. Compare the much better preserved LON-FA6024.
