Twenty-two are from the same vessel with narrow internal turning marks, sandwich fired with oxidised margins, buff interior and reduced exterior. Three other sherds are decorated with wavy combing. Fragment of a Roman cast copper alloy finger ring. Only one shoulder and small parts of the bezel and hoop survive, the remaining four fifths are lost to old breaks. The ring appears to have had a wide bezel with an oval recess in the centre, probably to hold an intaglio, now lost. The shoulders taper in width away from the bezel to the hoop and are angled down at c.45 degrees to it. The shoulders seem to angle down evenly with no carination. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch, probably a variant of a hinged T-shaped brooch dating from the first to second century AD. The brooch retains the wings, which partially encase the pin axis bar, and about three-quarters of the bow. The bow is decorated with moulded patterns comprising a raised central mid-rib on the crest of the bow, with horizontal banding with grooves either side; below this are two or three moulded saltires above horizontal ribbed mouldings.
