A three-dimensional copper-alloy, probably Roman figurine in the form of a standing hooded figure. The human-like figure faces forward, his head tilted slightly to his right. The figurine is extremely worn, making any details invisible. He wears a cloak with a hood which covers the entire body. Both arms are held by the figure's side. Object type: COIN
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL

A silver half crown of Charles I, dating to the post-medieval period. The coin has been clipped around most edges, removing part of the legend and making the initial mark hard to see. The initial mark appears be the letter R in brackets - (R), which would date the coin to c. AD 1644-1645, minted at the Tower under Parliament, and would accord with the image of the king on horseback on the obverse, which is a type seen in later issues. Probably a North Group III halfcrown, No 2213.
