An incomplete copper alloy Trumpet brooch of Roman date. The head of the brooch is ovate with a concave reverse which houses an axis bar around which the pin mechanism is looped. The mechanism is extremely worn and indistinct. The centre of the front of the head tapers to form the circular sectioned bow which continues to a worn pointed break. A circumferential acanthus decoration flanked by double banded collars is present mid-way along the bow which appears otherwise undecorated. The metal has a mid-brown patina and is worn. Copper alloy stud with a plano-convex head, cirrcular in plan and oval on section with a flattened base. From the centre of the base projects the stub of an integral circular sectioned shaft ending in an old break. The head is decorated with four incised semi-circular lines running around the edge, the ends of each line touch to next line giving a lozenge shape in the centre. An incomplete copper alloy headstud brooch of Roman date. The head of the brooch is comprised of rectangular wings from the reverse of which the remains of a double lug hinge mechanism projects. The remains of the pin are still looped around the axis bar. A circular sectioned bow extends centrally from the front of the wings tapering steadily in width to a worn and broken terminal. Copper alloy sprung dolphin brooch that has the remains of a rearwards facing hook at the top of the head that would have held the spring. Semi-circular wings project either side of the head, the forward of which are decorated with a recessed vertical band. The front of the brooch is decorated with two wavy lines flanked by a recessed border that ring down the length of the bow. The catch plate on the reverse is open. Date 43-65AD
