Medieval copper alloy finger ring, complete though the stone is missing, stirrup-shaped with three bosses on both shoulders, each with many tiny D-shaped punched impressions. The cross-section of the hoop is D-shaped, though the inner face is very slightly convex. The bezel contains off-white fixative. The form is quite close to that of a gold example from Essex (ESS-98F924). External diameter 22.7 - 25.1mm. Internal diameter 19mm. Thickness 1.5 - 3.2mm. 13th century.

Circumstances of Discovery: Metal detecting Description: A silver post medieval finger ring dating to the period c. AD1500 - 1650. The ring is circular in shape and is undecorated on the exterior. It is inscribed on the interior with the legend BE X FAITHFVL X EVER. The silver has a slightly yellow sheen to it, indicating a high base metal content. A gold post medieval posey ring dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1750. The finger ring comprises a circular band which has been bent out of shape. It has a slightly rounded undecorated exterior and is inscribed on the inside with the words A TOKEN OF MY LOVE. The finger ring measures 21.07mm in diamter, iternal diamter 19.22mm and weighs 2.68g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy spiral finger ring of late Iron Age to early Roman date, about 200 BC to AD 200. The ring is made of copper alloy wire which is D-shaped in cross-section and has a width of 4.54mm. It is coiled in a single turn with both terminals overlapping. The internal terminal tapers to a rounded end while the outer terminal is incomplete due a probable ancient break. The internal diameter of the object is 15.55mm and the external diameter 20.74mm. Late Saxon finger ring with a hoop comprised of three lengths of plaited round-sectioned copper alloy wire, two of which are wound around each other to form shoulders flanking a spiral bezel. External diameter 21.5 - 21.9mm. Internal diameter 17.5 - 18mm. Weight 1.03g. The appearance of the shoulders and bezel resembles that seen some on single-strand Early Saxon rings, e.g. MacGregor and Bolick 1993, cat. nos. 27.18 and 19, and NARC-3AE845. A Post Medieval silver gilt finger-ring, dating to the early 16th century. The ring is D-shaped in section and is decorated on one side only. The flat face is on the inside of the object. The ring has been broken and bent so that it resembles an S-shaped strip of metal. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the surface of a white metal finger ring carried out by the British Museum's Scientific Research sectionidentified the metal as pewter - an alloy of tin, lead and antimony. The alloy indicates the ring is modern. The ring weighs 5.03 grams.
