A post medieval pottery sherd (AD1500-1800) from a circular vessel. The sherd is a fine, hard, reddish orange coloured clay; dark brown glaze on both surfaces, only fragments of the glaze remaining on the outer surface There is a series of impressed indentations average length 24.6m (probably made by a thumb), 10.8mm below the outer edge of the rim. Below this the vessel wall thins to approx..8.61mm.
The inner surface is smooth with the remaining glaze extant along the two flat contours of the upper rim.

An early Neolithic flint core rejuvination flake dating to the period c. 4000 - 3501 BC. The flake features five parallel negative flake removal scars on one surface from the production of blades and bladelets. The rejuvination flake has been struck off the core at a ninety degree angle to these scars. The bulb of percussion is diffuse and the flake terminates in a hinged fracture. The core rejuvination flake retains c. 40% cortex. There is some evidene of platfor preparation on the opposite surface to the removal. The flint is a mottled grey in colour, with some patination.

The flint is a secondary or tertiary flake and is dark brown and dark grey in colour; cortex is reforming on all surfaces. Two edges have been shaped with short, sub-parallel, abrupt retouch. The scraper is 24.8 mm in length, 29.5 mm wide, 7.0 mm thick and weighs 7.4 g.

An incomplete Medieval decorative bone dagger terminal, probably dating to the 15th century. The object is formed from the long bone of a large animal, probably a cow. It is sub rectangular in shape, flaring from the top to the bottom, and is slightly curved. The object would have fitted at the end of a scale-tang dagger to form a decorative terminal. Based on the curvature of the object, this would have been a particularly large dagger. It has been sheered at one edge so that the entirety of the decoration is no longer visible.

An incomplete cast copper alloy socketed axehead, of possible Late Bronze Age dating (1000 BC to 800 BC).
Probably less than 40% of the socketed axehead is present, consisting of part of the main body, the base of the socket and the blade edge. The fragment is sub rectangular in plan, and triangular in section. The socket is sub-rectangular in shape. Casting ridges are present along one of the sides. An incomplete and slightly bent undecorated pair of copper-alloy tweezers of probable Roman or Early Medieval date. Only one arm survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
It is flat and rectangular with a slightly expanded terminal that turns inwards at an angle of nearly 90 degrees. The top of the arm narrows to a rounded terminal with a central circular perforation. The front face of the top of the arm is decorated with transverse grooves. The back face is undecorated.

A post medieval lead alloy spoon dating AD 1550-1700. The spoon has a fig-shape bowl, hexagonal stem and a slip top (pinched terminus). There is no trace of an internal iron strengthening rod. There is a maker's mark located on the spoon bowl directly below the handle. There is significant damage to the spoon bowl with cracks on both sides and part of the top missing. The central maker's mark depicts a goblet within a beaded border.
Parallels for this spoon can be found in Egan (2005, no. 571 and 573) which date to the late 16th century. A further parallel on the PAS database date…

A small cast copper alloy gilded mount in the form of a dog (or lion), naturalistically rendered, standing on a pedestal. The dog faces left with the head turned to face the viewer. The right legs are arranged in front of the left, leaving a hole between, and the tail is curled between the dog's legs and over its back.The ears are downturned and curly hair covers the chest. The dog stands on a splayed plain pedestal base. The back of the mount is flat save for a large rounded tab which projects at right-angles from just below the line of the dog's back.

An assemblage of eleven pieces of debitage of Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date (c. 4000 - 1601 BC). The assemblage consists of seven flakes and four blades. They vary in length from 44.42mm to 28.69mm and in width from 35.12mm to 6.88mm. Their collective weight is 89.92g. Four pieces retain between c. 5% and 35% cortex on their surface and have been struck off secondary flakes. The other seven retain no traces of cortex and have been struck off tertiay flakes.
