Two silver coins, late issues of the Amirs of Sind, probably of the ruler Ahmad or imitations thereof. They were produced in the early 11th Century. Coin 1: 0.28g, 8mm Coin 2: 0.30g, 7mm The coins originated from the area of modern day Pakistan. It is extremely unlikely that they would have circulated so far at the time they were in use, and their transportation to Britain probably did not take place before the second Anglo-Maratha War (1802-3) when the East India Company first established itself in regions where these coins are found.

An incomplete Neolithic polished greenstone axehead dating to the period c. 4000 - 2500 BC. The axehead is trapezoidal in shape and widens from the butt end to the blade. It tapers in thickness from the butt end to the blade. The axehead has an oval cross-section at the butt end and a lenticular cross-section at the blade end. The butt end of the axehead was broken off in antiquity and the remaining fragment reused. The butt end appears to have been used as a hammer stone. A glass Roman gaming counter dating to the period c. AD 43 - 410. The counter is oval in shape and convex. The reverse is slightly dished. The counter is a very dark opaque blue/black and features a central inset spot of red glass surrounded by three irregularly sized spots of white glass on the upper face. The underside of the gaming counter features a number of air holes from the manufacture process. Cf. HESH-5792F7 for a similar example on the database. Cf. Grey Limestone possible tessera. Irregular stone cube whose faces were possibly defined by drafts of an axe or chisel, and subsequently chipped. The smoothest side may have formed part of a mosaic floor. The use of larger tesserae would be more likely in the later Roman period, as part of an undecorated floor, a simple geometric design, or in the border to a figurative design. Oblique arrowhead, grey flint with cortex spot and cloudy patches of patina triangular arrowhead. Leaf-shaped flake with covering retouch on its dorsal side and with faint broad ripples on the ventral. The base of the point is lightly engrailed with an off-centre projection, a form anticipating the barbed and tanged type. Suggested date: Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age, 2700-1600 BC. A silver-gilt Post Medieval hooked tag, dating from the 16th century. The back plate is trefoil with a pinked edge. There is a hollow domed boss soldered to the front of each lobe. These are decorated with three filigree circles on each, a pellet in the centre and a filigree border at the base of each boss. Some of the decoration is missing. In the centre of the plate is circular hole. A medieval cast copper-alloy buckle frame. The frame is oval, with an offset bar, the bar being distorted as a result of old damage.
