Cast copper alloy rim fragment from a bowl or cooking vessel with an internally bevelled rim that is triangular in profile and flush with the upper edge of the vessel. The body of the vessel curves downwards slightly to suggest a reasonably deep straight-sided bowl or a deep straight-sided everted rim, as seen on cauldrons, and the curvature of the rim suggests a diameter of about 280 mm. The bevelled rim itself is 5 mm thick which then tapers to the body which is 3.6 mm thick. There are patches of burnt organic material on the exterior of the fragment, which suggests that the vessel …

Period: post-1714 AD Description: thin sheet silver object, badly damaged/ crumpled. On one side of what remains is an incised line along both long edges creating a border. Within this, on the same side, are further incised lines which could represent foliage. There also appears to be a partial maker's mark of 'M&' in the centre. The reverse appears plain. Dimensions: Length: 37.19mm; Width: 24.90mm; Weight: 0.9g Discussion: The style of lettering used for the maker's mark suggests a modern date.

Pale semi-translucent flint transverse arrowhead, as kindly identified by the finder. Small flake with long parallel flakes removed from the dorsal side and with a bulb on the ventral, the working of the two sides being at right angles. Short abrupt retouch, probably a single impact, has trimmed what is here taken as the cutting edge of the arrowhead. The projectile must have received nearly all its effect from the combined power of bow and weight of the arrow shaft behind this lightweight head. Suggested date: Late Neolithic, 2700-2350 BC. Length: 11.4mm, Width: 14.2mm, Thicknes…
