An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval French Dolphin jetton alluding to the Dauphine with 'Noble and proud fish' inscription, c.1373-1415 AD. as Mitchiner, 1988: no. 487. Approximately one quarter of the jetton is missing due to old breaks.
Obverse: +LE:nOBLE:[]IER, Bowed dolphine left, holding purse in its mouth, within an inner circle.
Reverse: []/+A+/+V+/+E+, Triple stranded straight cross fleuretty within a double stranded quatrefoil, the legend in the external angles of the foil.
