A small body sherd from a medieval ceramic vessel of unknown form. The sherd has an off-white fabric with frequent small grained inlcusions. The sherd is glazed in an olive green with a blackish stripe arranged vertically; within this stripe is a decorative device similar to a row of B's on top of one another, in an orangey slip. The glazing is limited to the external wall of the fabric. Probably a Brill-Boarstall highly decorative vessel of the mid-13th or 14th century AD.

Post-medieval cast copper-alloy hooked mount. The mount consists of a plate, trapezoidal in plan, with an integral backward-turning hook. The plate has a slightly concave back and a convex front. It is narrowest at the hook and widens to a rounded bilobed end. There is a slight widened collar between the main plate and the hook. There are two rivet holes aligned down the centre of the plate. A knapped flint rounded scraper of probable Neolithic or Early Bronze Age date (c. 4000-1000 BC). The flint is a primary flake and is black in colour; the dorsal face is covered with cream-orange cortex. The sides have been shaped with short, scaled, semi-abrupt and abrupt retouch. The scraper is 18.2 mm in length, 27.5 mm wide, 10.3 mm thick and weighs 5.8 g.

An incomplete copper-alloy circular strainer of Medieval date. Only part of the plate survives, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn.
It is flat with multiple punched circular perforations before terminating in old breaks.
This strainer measures 23.56mm in length, 12.06mm in width, 1.04mm in thickness, 0.82g in weight.
There is a similar example from London (Egan, 1998, p. 158, no. 440) and recorded on the PAS database (SF-682A7D).

It is rectangular in form and section. All surfaces are undecorated.
This object measures 22.85mm in length, 18.87mm in width, 6.65mm in thickness, 26.06g in weight.
There are similar examples recorded on the PAS database (SF-EB7D11), (LON-6A4983), (NMS-7F64B5), (NMS-05E756). These all suggest a variety of dates, however a later date seems most likely, perhaps in the Medieval to Post-Medieval periods.

Three etouched flakes of probable Mesolithic to early Bronze Age date (c. 7000 - 1601BC). The fragments consist of three flakes. All three flakes exhibit short abrupt scaled retouch along one mesal edge. None of the flakes retains any cortex and all are struck off tertiary flakes. The flint varies in colour from dark grey to off-white. One of them displays substantial patination. They vary in length from 30.31mm to 26.34mm and in width from 22.55mm to 10.31mm. They collectively weigh 10.42g.

The flint is a tertiary flake and is covered with white and light grey patina with visible areas of brown flint. One side and dorsal end have been shaped with short, scaled, semi-abrupt and crossed abrupt retouch. The scraper is 34.3 mm in length, 19.9 mm wide, 6.7 mm thick and weighs 5.4 g.

An incomplete post medieval iron knife, dating circa AD1520. The knife is formed of an iron scale tang blade with a wooden handle decorated with copper alloy studs and trefoil mounts and a copper alloy knife end cap. The blade is broken and the tip is missing. The iron of the blade is corroded but there is a faint impression of a cross where the maker's mark is usually situated. The scales, forming the handle, are made of wood. A cast copper alloy strap fitting of post-Medieval date, AD 1550 - 1750. It is in two linked sections, a strap fitting and an S shaped hook in the form of a double headed snake. The strap fitting has a circular body with a sub-rectangular strap loop and, opposite the strap loop, an integral suspension loop at right angles to the plane of the body. The S shaped hook is fitted through this suspension loop. It has the head of a snake at each end and a broad, circular collar in the centre. The strap fitting is 61mm long and 22mm wide. It weighs 10.4gm.

A copper-alloy wheel from a post-medieval pastry jigger (AD 1700-1800). The openwork wheel is circular in plan with a central perforation to attach it to the jigger arm. Four spokes located at the four cardinal points project outwards from the central perforation, forming broadly oval openwork cells. The circumference of the wheel is decorated with deep incisions located on either face to form a zig-zag cutting edge, with three crimps then a flat section, repeated around the cutting edge. Similar examples can be found in the PAS database: PUBLIC-F0BC67, IOW-610522 and HAMP-709713.

A flint scraper dating to the Neolithic period, c. 4000-2350 BC. The scraper has been made on a flake and could be described as a 'thumbnail' scraper due to its size. There is no bulb or platform retained. Invasive soft-hammer retouch is visible around both laterals and the distal end, however there is none on the proximal end. All retouching is limited to the dorsal surface. The scraper has been burnt, after it was formed. Flint borer, of uncertain date, Mesolithic to Neolithic (9000 - 2200 BC). The flint is a brown colour and is translucent. It is a tertiary flake and is roughly teardrop shaped in plan and flat elliptical in section. The flint has a sharp curved point at the distal end. This point has been produced by minimal short, sub-parallel, semi-abrupt, soft hammer retouch to the left edge of the distal end carried out from the dorsal face. There is also edge damage, or possible very fine retouch on the right side at the proximal end. The flint is 30.2mm long x 14.5mm wide x 4.2mm thick. Weight 1.2g.

An incomplete, cast copper alloy key of medieval date, AD 1300 - 1500. The remaining portion consists of the shank, part of the bow and a small part of the bit. The shank is of flattened oval section and is hollow. The remaining part of the bow is in the form of an openwork quatrefoil, most of which has broken away and is missing. Two small projections at the end of the key are all that remains of the bit and wards. The key is 67.4mm long and 23mm wide. It weighs 21.7gm.

A complete but bent copper-alloy domed type thimble of Post-Medieval date.
The rim is unthickened and has a circumferential groove. The straight sides are covered with extensive circular indentations that spiral from the crown to the base of the thimble.
This thimble measures 11.50mm in height, 15.86mm in diameter, 0.81mm in thickness, 1.27g in weight.
There are similar examples from London (Egan, 2005, p. 132, no. 621).

An incomplete cast copper alloy book clasp of medieval to post-medieval date. It is made of a single sheet of metal which is rectangular in plan, but flares out to a fish tail at one end. This fishtail has a scalloped edge, and the scallops are bent and one is broken with a worn break. There are incised lines on the scallops which form a herringbone pattern, and a few of these lines radiate onto the main body of the clasp. A late Mesolithic flint flake, possibly a microburin dating to the period c. 7000 - 4001BC. The flake is broadly triangular in shape and is struck off a tertiary flake. The dorsal surface exhibits two negative flake removal scars. The ventral surface displays a diffuse bulb of percussion indicating that the flake has been soft hammer struck. The flake displays short scaled retouch at the proximal end. The flint is a translucent dark grey.
The flake measures 15.44mm in length, 9.83mm in width, is 2.15mm thick and weighs 0.28g.
