Fragment of a medieval copper alloy annular framed brooch, the stumps of a triangular-sectioned frame projecting from the base of a gently tapering round collet which is angled outwards with damaged mouth, the stone is missing. Diameter c.36mm. Height of collet 9mm. Width of frame 4mm. Thickness of frame 2.5mm. c.1230 - c.1400.

An incomplete copper alloy Iron Age La Tene I brooch dating to the period c. 400 - 200 BC. Only two loops of the pin remain wrapped around the remains of the copper alloy axis bar. It terminates in an old break. The pin is missing. The bow arches upwards from the head and is cylindrical in cross-section. The bow is undecorated. It then arches downwards into the foot which terminates in a curled catchplate. The brooch measures 31.48mm in length, 6.05mm maximum width, 2.87mm minimum width and is 6.46mm thick. It weighs 3.36g. An incomplete and extremely worn Roman copper alloy bow brooch, possibly of Hod Hill type (AD 43-70) and consisting of the foot, bow, incomplete catchplate and a flattened, thinner section at the top of the bow where it would presumably have extended into rolled wings. The break here is old. At the break, it measures 3.95x0.28mm. Below, at the top of the bow, it measures 5.77x1.47, narrowing over c.21mm to 3.40x2.01mm just above a very worn moulded rib which separates the bow from the foot. An incomplete Roman (AD 50-150) copper alloy Colchester derivitive brooch with a spring mechanism, missing most of one wing, the foot and catchplate, and the spring and pin. The brooch measures 42.01mm in incomplete length and weighs 7.78g. All original patina is missing and all breaks are old. The wings are 'C' shaped in cross-section and span 19.48mm. Originally, they would have spanned c.28mm. There is no apparent decoration to the front of the wings. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman zoomorphic plate brooch in the form of a bird. It is missing the head, wings, pin, catchplate, lug and part of the tail due to old breaks, now worn. It is flat. The main body is sub-oval in form and tapers before expanding to a flaring tail. At the top of the body are the remains of where the now missing head would have been placed. Roman copper alloy bow brooch of Colchester derivative, The Wroxeter, Polden Hill / T-shaped type and of later 1st or 2nd century AD date. The brooch is near-complete, missing the pin and bow setting (with a surviving length of 58.7mm, a depth of 16.0mm and a weight of 18.2g). The spring is secured between perforated lateral lugs and the missing chord was tensioned by a lug at the head, in a 'Polden Hill, lug type' arrangement.
