Cast copper alloy rim fragment from a bowl or cooking vessel with an internally bevelled rim that is triangular in profile and flush with the upper edge of the vessel. The body of the vessel curves downwards slightly to suggest a reasonably deep straight-sided bowl or a deep straight-sided everted rim, as seen on cauldrons, and the curvature of the rim suggests a diameter of about 280 mm. The bevelled rim itself is 5 mm thick which then tapers to the body which is 3.6 mm thick. There are patches of burnt organic material on the exterior of the fragment, which suggests that the vessel …

A cast copper-alloy Roman multifunctional eating utensil, dating to the second or third century AD. The handle is in the form of an elongated, crouching feline, probably a lion or panther, with front legs outstretched. The legs are set forward of and below the animal's head which has moulded ears, slight recesses for eyes and a groove showing the mouth. An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle, probably a spur buckle, of Medieval date. It is in two joining fragments and is missing its pin due to old breaks. A cast copper-alloy stud or rivet of uncertain Roman or later date. It has a dome-shaped head that has flat back and rounded front face, which is slightly faceted around its edges. At the centre of the back face is an integral shaft that is square in section and tapers to a sharp point. The entire object has a dark brown patina with some pitting in places. It measures 11.98mm in diameter, 12.67mm in height, and 1.70g in weight.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy double looped buckle frame of Post-Medieval date. One loop is mostly incomplete and the pin is missing due to old breaks. The surviving loop is oval in form and section, with an oval sectioned bar that has slight notches at each end separating the two frames. It measures 16.20mm in width, 14.45mm in length, 2.93mm in thickness, and 1.78g in weight. This buckle is of Post-Medieval date, c.16th-17th centuries AD.

A fragment of late early-medieval (1000-1100) copper alloy bridle cheek-piece of Williams Type 2. It consists of long tapering projection ending in a rounded knob, and at the other end extending into an openwork design of three narrower projections around two semi-circular holes. The breaks at each arm are worn and old.

A copper alloy early medieval strap end dating to the 9th century. The strap end has a debased head with the ears behind; the neck is slightly waisted. On the curving body is a six-sided panel which contains a sinuous interlacing beast whose tale ends in a scroll and whose head looks forward to the left, the mouth agape. A leg and foot can be seen adjacent to the lower part of the frame. The decoration has been inalid with what appears to have been niello, though now rather degraded. The bifurcated attachment end is a little broken.

A copper alloy medieval seal matrix dating to the period c. AD 1250 - 1300. The seal matrix is a pointed oval shape and features a D-shaped integral pierced lug on the reverse. There is a longitudinal ridge extending from the bottom of the pierced loop to the tip of the seal matrix on the reverse.

An incomplete unidentified object, very similar to BH-CA39C0. It comprises an incomplete copper-alloy ring, circular in cross-section (c.3mm diameter) and with a double moulded collar to one side from which extends a circular-section spigot, apparently tapering to a point. It measures 15.77mm in length, 15.27mm in max.width and 6.57mm in max.thickness (at the collar). It weighs 2.42g.
Of BH-CA39C0 the authors write 'The form of this piece suggests it was probably a swivelling handle attachment, probably from a Roman metal vessel'.

A copper alloy fragment of a possible prick spur of uncertain date (possibly medieval to post-medieval - AD c.1100-c.1700), missing all but the goad and a length of the shaft connecting it to the back of the spur. Overall, the fragment measures 29.7mm long and 11.0mm in diameter. It weighs 6.11g. The goad is conical with a slightly flattened point. It measures 12.8mm long and 11.0mm in diameter. The shaft is circular in cross-section and measures 17.1mm long and 3.8mm in diameter.

An incomplete Early Post-Medieval (1500-1700) hooked tag, consisting of an incomplete openwork plate and a rectangular loop. The hook is missing. It measures 17.19mm in incomplete length, 14.96mm in width, 1.67mm in max.thickness and weighs 1.19g.
Flanking the rectangular loop (internal measurement 11.21x3.16mm) is a wide (7mm), concave cross-sectioned groove. Beyond this is openwork decoration with a circular hole at each corner and below and between a trefoil. The edges of this has worn breaks.

The spoon was of 'apostle' form and is fragmentary (with a surviving length of 34.8mm and a weight of 5.8g) and comprises a copper alloy terminal surmounted on a silver handle. A worn copper alloy post-medieval token, formed from a halfpenny of George II (AD 1727-1760). The coin has been clipped to form a serrated edge around its circumference, and nearly all detail has been removed or worn away - one can just make out the left facing bust of George II. On the reverse of the coin the initials W K have been incised. Tokens were a common occurance from the 17th century, some lead tokens being crudely made while other copper alloy tokens were manufactured to much higher standards.
