Post-medieval cast copper-alloy hooked mount. The mount consists of a plate, trapezoidal in plan, with an integral backward-turning hook. The plate has a slightly concave back and a convex front. It is narrowest at the hook and widens to a rounded bilobed end. There is a slight widened collar between the main plate and the hook. There are two rivet holes aligned down the centre of the plate. The holes are filled with iron corrosion product. The rectangular cross-sectioned hook is bent back until the tip meets the back of the plate. A copper-alloy ring is retained by from the hook. The…
