An incomplete Roman (AD 50-150) copper alloy Colchester derivitive brooch with a spring mechanism, missing most of one wing, the foot and catchplate, and the spring and pin. The brooch measures 42.01mm in incomplete length and weighs 7.78g. All original patina is missing and all breaks are old. The wings are 'C' shaped in cross-section and span 19.48mm. Originally, they would have spanned c.28mm. There is no apparent decoration to the front of the wings.
