A cast lead spindle whorl of uncertain date, probably dating from the sixth to sixteenth century, AD 600 - 1600. It is of Coppergate type 1, having a circular, flat base and a domed upper surface. There is a central, circular perforation but no decoration. It is 27.8mm in diameter and 12.3mm high. It weighs 37.6gm. Whorls of this shape are illustrated in Rogers, P.
