A Post Medieval iron hooked mount or escutcheon, dating to the 16th century. The object is ovoid in shape with a small rounded projection at the widest end and a hook projecting from the narrowest end. There are two rivet holes, one at either end of the plate, both of which have the heads of the rivet and part of the shanks still in situ. Based on the curviture of the object it is likely from a vessel, with the hook pointing outwards. The mount has a mid-dark grey pattination with patches of light brown and orange on both sides and some light grey concreted material on the back of the…

A silver cut halfpenny of Henry III. Voided long-cross coinage, probably North Class 3, dating from 1248-1250. Mint of Lincoln.Cf. North 1991 Vol II, p. 226, nos. 986-988/1; probably Class 3c, but this is unclear due to the detail of the cut half remaining. The obverse bust is somewhat crude and the individual small and large pellets have blurred together to create haphazard dashes for the beard.

The 'square' portion of the brooch is incomplete and appears to house the scar of a catchplate on its reveres, which would make it the 'flat' panel below the bow. It is decorated with a raised rectangular triple border which contains raised decoration which could represent a face? The curved bow is also decorated with raised l…
