A late Neolithic or early Bronze Age scraper formed from a discoidal core dating to the period c. 2700 - 1801 BC. The scraper is oval in shape with one slightly flatter edge. There is no visible bulb of percussion. This may have been removed by flake removal. The ventral surface exhibits three negative flake removal scars along the top edge. It also exhibits a number of chips around the bottom edge which are most likely recent damage, given the shape of the chips and the colour of patination which is slightly darker than the rest of the object. The dorsal surface has been flaked across…

A copper alloy Roman dupondius or as, probably issued by a member of the Julio-Claudian dynasty, dating from 31 BC-AD 68. It is likely from remaining detail of the bust that this coin was issued by Claudius (AD 41-54). Reverse type illegible, depicting a standing figure. Robert Kenyon, following on from the work by the French scholars P-A. Besombes and M. Bompaire (in Trésors Monétaires XXI, 2005), is working through the British examples of Claudian coinage recorded through the PAS assigning many so-called Claudian contemporary copies to Roman auxiliary mints which operated at L…

A silver cut halfpenny of Henry III. Voided long-cross coinage, probably North Class 3, dating from 1248-1250. Mint of Lincoln.Cf. North 1991 Vol II, p. 226, nos. 986-988/1; probably Class 3c, but this is unclear due to the detail of the cut half remaining. The obverse bust is somewhat crude and the individual small and large pellets have blurred together to create haphazard dashes for the beard.

A fragment of a probably late Medieval to early Post-Medieval silver coin of foreign issue. Although one face is illegible with unidentifiable decoration, the other face clearly begins with + BRI.
