The surviving fragment is rectangular in form, oval in section, with incomplete arms/sides at top and bottom that are mostly incomplete due to old breaks. The front face of the object has two deep rabbetts creating raised square panels at top, middle and bottom. It measures 40.79mm in length, 11.34mm in width, 7.77mm in thickness, and 15.13g in weight. These comprise the crowned value XVs, flanked by single fleur de lis, within an inner beaded circle. The opposite face has a central rose from which radiate arms terminting in alternating lions and lis, all within an inner circle. A fragment from a possible palstave of Middle Bronze Age date. It is rectangular with a prominent stop ridge and flattened sub-rectangular panels to either side which terminate in old breaks. On each outer edge are possible traces of a casting seam, but this is uncertain due to the preservation of the object. Some surfaces display evidence of burning. This possible palstave measures 27.24mm in length, 17.55mm in width, 14.25mm in thickness, 16.42g in weight.
