An early post-medieval (1500-1700) copper alloy hooked tag, measuring 31.91x12.99x6.02mm and weighing 2.25g. The body of the tag is broadly trapezoidal with the hook protruding from the smallest edge of the body. The hook (which is flat in cross-section) curls back on itself. The wider end is in-curved with a V-shaped groove. Arranged vertically are two rivets holes (counter-sunk to the reverse), the one nearest the wider end retaining an iron rivet. All original patina has been lost and reverse is slightly concave. It is likely this object functioned as part of a sword belt assemblage

An incomplete and worn Early-Medieval copper-alloy hooked tag of Read Early Medieval Class A, type 1. It is missing part of the outer edge due to old breaks, now worn. It has a flat, sub-triangular plate. The front face is decorated with a worn ring and dot motif. In the centre is a separately cast copper-alloy rivet with a flattened round head. The back face is undecorated. At the bottom of the plate is an integrally cast hook. This is D-shaped in section, tapers to a point and bent backwards. Post Medieval copper alloy hooked tag, 44mm long, 13mm wide and 3mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 2.4 grams. The object consists of an open trapezoidal shaped loop which sits above a circular plate with a raised solid border, containing a raised bust, possibly male. Below this the D cross-sectioned hook emerges, missing its tip. This object is similar to Reads class E type 3, dated to the 'early post medieval' period (no calander dates given)

A Post Medieval copper alloy strap fitting for a sword belt, dating to the early 17th century. This example is composed of the plate, which tapers from the top to the hook. Attached to the hook is a copper alloy ring. The ring has only been crudely finished with a fragment of copper alloy attached where it was attached to the adjoining ring during the manufacturing process.
