A Post Medieval iron hooked mount or escutcheon, dating to the 16th century. The object is ovoid in shape with a small rounded projection at the widest end and a hook projecting from the narrowest end. There are two rivet holes, one at either end of the plate, both of which have the heads of the rivet and part of the shanks still in situ. Based on the curviture of the object it is likely from a vessel, with the hook pointing outwards.
