A complete but fractured post-Medieval cast lead or lead alloy mount (c. 1775-c. 1825). This mount is moulded at the front and uneven at the rear. The front is in the form of a crudely executed coat of arms and consists of a crest, mantling and an escutcheon. The rear face has the stubs of two imbedded iron spikes, one at each side. This mount is grey with traces of gilding at the front and the rear face is uneven and largely buff. Height: 40.1mm; width: 32.5mm; thickness: 4.1mm; thickness including stubs: 5.9mm. Weight: 16.95g.

A complete and worn Medieval billon double mite of Philip the Handsome/the Fair of Burgundy (1482-1506), minted in Flanders during the period 1488-92. Van Gelder and Hoc no. 153. Ref: Van Gelder and Hoc 1960: 70. Obverse: +PhS DEI GRA DVX CO FL; lion rampant to left Reverse: +IN DOMINO CONFIDO; cross pattee with lozenge centre containing a lis. Diameter: 20.9mm. Weight: 0.98g. DA=12:5.
