A silver object, possibly part of larger object. Flat on both sides. In plan one end of the object begins with a semi-circular shape, and is then cinched towards the centre. Above this follows an oval shape after which the object is cinched again. This is followed by a flat oval collar. Above this is a baluster shape, with a joining collar from which a sub-rectangular shape begins. Post Medieval cast lead tin alloy (pewter) button with integral shank which is now squashed flat. The button is circular with a break along one side removing 15% of the circumference. It has a domed front and concave back. The front is decorated with a raised design of a six bladed impeller (propeller) with curved arms radiating out from a central pellet within a cabled border at the edge. A post-medieval cast copper-alloy button with a convex front and integral attachment loop set centrally in the concave back. The front of the button is decorated with annulets, dots and crescents forming a central foliate, four floral sprays and four bunches of grapes, evenly set. The background, although worn in places, consists of a field of tiny dots.The back is plain apart from the loop.
