Object type: SCRAPER (TOOL)
Broad period: NEOLITHIC
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A scraper fabricated on a thermal flake of mottled brown flint. The scraper is tongue-shaped in plan. One face has circular ripples radiating from a central point and the opposing face is covered in pale grey cortex. One area of the cortex is damaged, probably from the action of agricultural machinery rather than being deliberate. One edge of the flake has been worked along its entire length using short, scaled, semi-abrupt retouch to produce a scraping edge. This scraper is probably Neolithic in date.
