A copper alloy Roman nail cleaner dating to the period c. AD 43 - 410. The nail cleaners feature a circular suspension loop through which a length of copper alloy has been passed and bent into a circle with the ends overlapping to create a closed loop. The rectangular neck is incised with two grooves; one at the terminus between the susepnsion loop and the neck and the other at the terminus between the neck and the blade. Copper alloy Post Medieval double loop asymmetrical buckle with missing pin. The central strap bar is slightly narrowed and is flanked on one side by a deformed D shaped loop and on the other by a rectangular loop. A similar buckle is shown in Whitehead; Buckles 1250-1800; (2003); p91; No.569 and is dated to Circa 1575-1700 AD. Dimensions; length 33.6mm, width 28.10mm, weight 6.49g.
