A fragment of Post Medieval stoneware bottle, "Bartmann" or "Bellarmine", dating to the 16th century. The fabric is grey with a brown salt glaze on the external surface and a reddish-brown slip on the internal surface. There is a reduced layer on the internal edge of the ceramic and red staining from the iron glaze. The sherd includes part of the applied portrait medallion showing a male wearing a ruff, in profile facing right, within a circle. The sherd is 38.35mm in length, 24.85mm wide, 6.25mm thick and weighs 7.52 grams.

There is patchy green glaze on the exterior. slightly angles, pointed rim of a jug. The form of the bowl is a "Bristol and Wiltshire" type with a bulbous upper part to the bowl and a milled rim in line with the edge parallel to the stem.The stem has a wide bore (4 mm). A fragment of floor tile tile. A coarse, sandy fabric with occasional larger quartzite stones (up to 6mm). The core of the fabric is a reduced mid grey and the margins are oxidised red. There are folds visible in the fabric from the rolling and kneading of the clay during manufacture. The surface of the tile is decorated with fthree incised curving concentric lines. On the remaining section of original is chamfered along both sides. Probably part of a floor tile. Date: Roman - c. AD 50 - 400 Thickness: 26 mm Weight: 187 g

One body sherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of Medieval dating (AD 1100 to AD 1300). The rim sherd consists of a local (unsourced) type fabric, dating from the 12th to 14th Centuries AD. Local (unsourced) type fabrics have a frequent fine quartz temper, and a pale fabric. The exterior is a mid grey in colour, the reverse is darker grey than the obverse, and the obverse has a grey/brown base. This sherd probably came from a cooking pot type vessel. One rim sherd of a wheel thrown moulded ceramic vessel, of Early Roman dating (Mid to Late 1st Century). The rimsherd is consistent with that of a Samian fabric type, possibly from La Graufesenque in South Gaul, and is consistent with Mid to Late 1st Century dating. The shape of the sherd is consistent with a carinated bowl type such as a Dragendorff type 29. The front of the sherd exhibits moulded and rouletted decoration. A bead rim is present at the top. An incomplete moulded clay tobacco pipe, of Post Medieval dating (17th to 18th Centuries AD). The clay tobacco pipe has been moulded from a white pipeclay. The pipe fragment consists of an incomplete bowl, foot and start of the stem. No maker's marks are present on the foot, bowl or stem. The rim of the bowl is incomplete. A line of rouletting is present close to the rim of the bowl. The bowl is similar to an Oswald type 11 (Oswald, 1975, 37), which typically dates from c. AD 1730 to c. AD 1760.
