An incomplete, damaged and misshapen Iron Age to Roman copper-alloy Colchester one-piece brooch (AD 25-65). The catch-plate is missing. This brooch has small wings and the bow tapers in width from the top to the bottom. The bow is rectangular in cross-section, 5.6mm in width at the head and 2.1mm thick. It has a lateral spring of six coils and the external chord is secured by a forward facing integral hook. The brooch is corroded and reddish brown with bright green corrosion products. An incomplete Medieval cast copper-alloy bar mount (c. 1150-c. 1450). The central part of this mount is oval in plan, domed at the front and concave at the rear. At each end there is an integral sub-oval terminal, convex at the front and largely flat at the rear. Each terminal is pierced with a circular hole for a separate rivet. The holes are countersunk at the rear, one rivet is missing and the surviving copper-alloy rivet is burred over.
