Cast copper alloy tanged and collared chisel dating from the Late Bronze Age, that is c. 1000-800BC. The chisel is in good condition, but very worn. It has a long tange with square cross-section, that tapers to a point. It would have held the wooden or antler/bone handle. There is a stop-ridge with three additional collar mouldings between the tang and the blade. The blade is triangular with softly-rounded edges. A medieval copper-alloy annular buckle, with a broken pin surviving in situ. The frame is circular and undecorated; it is probably of circular cross-section, or broadly so. There is a cast copper-alloy pin looped around the frame with a small rectangular ridge on the front where the loop develops into the shaft. A medieval gold annular brooch dating to the 13th or 14th century. This brooch is circular in shape with two clasped hands projecting from the frame. There is a double band of chevron ridges at the junction between the projecting hands and the frame. The hands have an oval gap between them and there is a white coating, possibly an adhesive, between them. A Late Iron Age to Early Roman copper-alloy toggle. The artefact is complete and in good condition, its greenish-grey patination only broken by a few small patches of corrosion. The body is baluster-shaped, the distal ends of the two moulded sides flaring to discoidal terminals. A circular moulding with circumferential groove decorates the outer face of each of these terminals; an angular 'step' also extends around the inner edge of each terminal. An incomplete Post Medieval (of probable c. AD 1600-1680 date) moulded clay tobacco pipe. The clay tobacco pipe has been moulded from a white pipeclay, the fragment consists of a complete bowl with a spurred foot at the start of the stem. The bowl is undecorated and there appears to be no makers mark. The rim of the bowl is plain. The stem has been broken away by an old break. The style of the bowl is similar to that of an Oswald Type 7, which is consistent with a date of AD 1660 to AD 1680. An incomplete Medieval stone cannon ball dating between 1200-1400 AD. About two thirds of the cannon ball remain which is likely a caused when shaping rather than as a result of impact. A complete silver stirrup finger ring, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1400). The finger ring has a D shaped hoop. The hoop rises to a flat topped pointed bezel. A gem is set into the bezel with a plain setting. The gem is oval. Under magnification, it is possible to see pitting and a conchoidal fracture in the surface of the gem, suggesting that it is probably glass as opposed to a gemstone. A gold penannular ring of near-circular cross section. Bands of yellow and paler, silver-rich gold are clearly visible on the inside of the band, less so on the outer circumference where this decorative effect is very worn. Examination suggests that the ring is solid. An addition to a well known series of decorative rings. This example is the third from Surrey to be recorded under the Treasure Act.
