A penny of Eadgar, AD959-975 (EMC 2014.0296); parts of the circumference are missing in two areas. The obverse has been gilded. The edge of a small circular hole survives in the edges of one of the breaks which, together with the gilding, suggests that the coin was converted into a brooch, the hole being one of two used to attach a pin. The coin is of a previously unrecorded type. In view of the missing portions the best guess is that the obverse would originally have read EA / DG / AR / REX (in a design reminiscent of the Luda penny of Alfred); it would fit in with other revival…

Medieval copper alloy annular framed brooch with a cast pin (now distorted) set within a constriction. The frame is round-sectioned and undecorated. There is a tiny, low, square boss or grip next to the loop on the round-sectioned shank of the pin. External diameter 20.5mm. Internal diameter 16mm. 13th - 14th century.

Roman copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth 2011, Part 3, Group 4.a-b., flat wing ends type), and of 1st century AD date. The brooch is fragmentary and represented by the head and upper bow only and would have been comparatively substantial (with a surviving length of 37.8mm, a surviving depth of 17.5mm and a weight of 14.0g). The missing spring was likely to have been secured between lateral lugs now lost. Copper alloy brooch fragment. Cast concavo-convex hollow backed side or top knob from an Early Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch. A hemispherical or half round terminal with two deep moulded grooves, and with a rib between and after the grooves. Incised decoration comprises a finely incised line at the inner end of the terminal, and similar paired lines on the ribs. A medieval gold annular brooch dating to the 13th or 14th century. This brooch is circular in shape with two clasped hands projecting from the frame. There is a double band of chevron ridges at the junction between the projecting hands and the frame. The hands have an oval gap between them and there is a white coating, possibly an adhesive, between them.
