Object type: UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Worcestershire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
An incomplete copper alloy artefact of uncertain function, probably of Medieval to Post Medieval Period dating (AD 1400 - AD 1900). The object has a sub globular knop at one end, with a circular depression on either side, this could have been a mis casting of a hole, but it is unclear. Underneath the knop is a ridge followed by a long cylindrical shaft, this is narrower towards the knop and slightly tapers out towards the other end. The object may have sustained some damage or may have been mis-cast as just underneath the knop the object's cylindrical shaft has been flattened. This…

Part of an unidentified copper-alloy artefact, probably dating from the Roman to Medieval periods. The surviving piece has a well patinated break on one side, but two thirds of its perimeter appears to represent original edges. Just over half the piece is of flat section, its upper surface decorated by an incised herringbone pattern. The surviving end of this area has two inward-sloping, straight sides, the distal ends of which are joined by a further straight edge. A short distance from the centre of this edge is what may be the corroded remains of an in situ copper-alloy rivet. T…
