Part of an unidentified copper-alloy artefact, probably dating from the Roman to Medieval periods. The surviving piece has a well patinated break on one side, but two thirds of its perimeter appears to represent original edges. Just over half the piece is of flat section, its upper surface decorated by an incised herringbone pattern. The surviving end of this area has two inward-sloping, straight sides, the distal ends of which are joined by a further straight edge. An incomplete copper-alloy strap fitting, dating from the Roman period. The object consists of a domed circular plate, from the concave underside of which projects a 'D-shaped' loop. At the centre of the upper surface is a broken projection with rounded sides and a circular-sectioned, vertical perforation. Diameter: 41.6mm; length: 38.2mm. Weight: 66.15g. This piece, which resembles a skirted terret (see PAS record SUSS-88A144), is likely to be a cavalry fitting. An early Roman date is suggested.

A copper-alloy hooked tag, probably dating from the early post-Medieval period. The plate takes the form of an openwork flower head, the central element of which is a hexagonal plate with moulded petals and a circular perforation at the middle. Outer petals spring from this hexagon, around which are six suboval apertures. The plate is surmounted by a rectangular hanger, and its base tapers into a rearward hook, which is of 'D-shaped' section. Length: 36.8mm; width: 18.3mm; thickness: 1.5mm. Weight: 2.04g.

A Late Iron Age to Early Roman copper-alloy toggle. The artefact is complete and in good condition, its greenish-grey patination only broken by a few small patches of corrosion. The body is baluster-shaped, the distal ends of the two moulded sides flaring to discoidal terminals. A circular moulding with circumferential groove decorates the outer face of each of these terminals; an angular 'step' also extends around the inner edge of each terminal.
