Medieval mirror case, comprising two cast discs, each with an opposed double and single lug and one with an additional broken loop on one side. The two halves are now connected by a copper alloy rivet through one double and one single lug. The opposing lugs remain unpierced. Both halves are decorated alike with four slightly curved lines of opposed stamped triangles creating a crude, rounded, open cross, containing a cross formed by two median lines of opposed stamped triangles. There are two pairs of oblique grooves flanking a central one in the centre of the convex and ovoid-sectioned outside edge. These stand above the level of the surrounding surface. Just over half of a post-medieval copper alloy double-looped buckle frame with a D-sectioned pin, both loops oval, with a small lobe at the ends of the bar. In the centre of the edge there is a quatrefoil lobe with three apertures, the larger central one of which is the result of miscasting and should have been double. This is not a very common type, cf. SF-196417. Estimated length 56mm. Width 28mm. c.1550 - c.1650.
