Copper alloy scabbard chape. Cast moulded and collared terminal and [now] triangular flattened sheet metal chape, probably from the sheath for a relatively broad bladed knife or sword. The sheet metal component had a butted seam, while a depression in the end of the terminal may suggest this was lathe finished. Now flattened. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1550-1650.
Length: 55.1mm, Width (as found): 28.0mm, Thickness (sheet metal): 0.5mm, Diameter (terminal): 9.2mm, Weight: 10.80gms.
