Partly distorted post-medieval asymmetrical double-looped buckle frame. The form is close to that of Whitehead 2003 nos. 571-3. There is a groove around the convex edge and a pair of oblique grooves at its centre. On the other edge a straight transverse groove runs from one side to the other. The bar is narrow. Length 25mm. Width 17.7mm. c.1575 - c.1600.

A complete copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The object is a single looped oval buckle with an integral knop projecting from the outer edge of the loop. The buckle appears undecorated and is extremely worn. The metal has a mid greenish-brown patina and is worn. The buckle is 16.6mm long, 11.5mm wide, 3.3mm thick and weighs 0.9g.

A complete copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The buckle is a single looped D-shape with a triangular expansion to the outer edge of the curved loop. The buckle is undecorated and has been bent out of shape. The metal has a mid greenish-brown patina and is worn. The buckle is 26.6mm long, 14.8mm wide, 2.8mm thick and weighs 2.5g.

An incomplete copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The buckle is a sub-annular shoe or knee buckle with a drilled frame for a separate spindle. Only the D-sectioned frame remains which is undecorated. The metal has a dull green patina and is worn. The buckle is 22.5mm long, 18.5mm wide, 3mm thick and weighs 3g. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.97, no.600 and is dated to circa AD 1660 - 1720.

Just over half of a post-medieval copper alloy double-looped buckle frame with a D-sectioned pin, both loops oval, with a small lobe at the ends of the bar. In the centre of the edge there is a quatrefoil lobe with three apertures, the larger central one of which is the result of miscasting and should have been double. This is not a very common type, cf. SF-196417. Estimated length 56mm. Width 28mm. c.1550 - c.1650.

Badly distorted, incomplete and worn medieval gilt copper alloy oval buckle frame. The bar, which was offset and narrowed and protruding at the sides, is almost all missing. There are two pairs of oblique grooves flanking a central one in the centre of the convex and ovoid-sectioned outside edge. These stand above the level of the surrounding surface. Estimated length and width 18 and 40mm. 13th - 14th century.

An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle of Post-Medieval date, c. 1600-1700. The buckle was double-framed, but only one frame remains. This frame is generally trapezoidal in plan with a cast integral crossbar, and a pin made from a triangular length of copper alloy with one end wrapped around the crossbar. The outer frame has a rounded knop at each corner, with a slight projection in the centre of the frame.
