Part of an unidentified copper-alloy artefact, probably dating from the Roman to Medieval periods. The surviving piece has a well patinated break on one side, but two thirds of its perimeter appears to represent original edges. Just over half the piece is of flat section, its upper surface decorated by an incised herringbone pattern. The surviving end of this area has two inward-sloping, straight sides, the distal ends of which are joined by a further straight edge.
