Object type: CANNON BALL
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Greater London Authority
Workflow stage: Published Find published
An incomplete Medieval stone cannon ball dating between 1200-1400 AD. About two thirds of the cannon ball remain which is likely a caused when shaping rather than as a result of impact. The fact that it was found by the Tower of London would suggest that it was not used and thus discarded as a failed product. Dimensions: diameter: 132.65 mm; weight: 2121g.
