Cast copper alloy dolphin brooch dating from the early Roman period, that is the 1st -2nd century (AD75-175). The brooch is plain. It is complete except for the pin which is missing. It has a T-shaped cross bar with a tube that housed the spring or, more likely, the hinged attachment mechanism. The bow is short and humped and the foot is just a folded-over piece of metal. It is a very basic casting without any moulded or enamelled decoration.

Incomplete medieval copper alloy buckle. The bar and incomplete sides of the rectangular or trapezoidal frame are of sheet strip. Much of one side is missing and the other is broken across a perforation in which a separate outside edge would have been inserted. It would have supported a sheet roller, The sheet plate is of folded sheet and secured by a single rivet. It is slightly wider at the fold where there are notches rather than recesses for the frame. A Medieval copper alloy casket key with a perforated circular bow, likely dating to c. 1150-1400 AD. The bow of the key is circular with an internal diameter of approximately 8.2 mm. The shank extends from the base of the loop and is oval in cross-section. The bit is sub-rectangular with semi-circular hollows on both sides. It measures 37.2 mm in length, 14.3 mm wide, 4.5 mm thick and weighs 4.9 g. Several examples of similar casket keys were found in excavations in Winchester (see Biddle 1990: 1024-1036), in layers dating from the 12th to 14th centuries.

An incomplete Roman cast copper-alloy Headstud brooch (AD 75-200), Bayley and Butcher Type 'b' (hinged pin and fixed headloop). This brooch is 'T'-shaped in plan. At the head of the brooch there is a stub of an attachment or chain loop. The short wings are rectangular in plan and sub-cylindrical in cross-section. An incomplete cast copper alloy button and loop fastener of late Iron Age or early Roman date (50 BC - 200 AD). The head of the button and loop fastener is circular in plan with a cast circular hole through the centre. In cross section the frame of the fastener is oval or D shaped. The edges of the button head are slightly bevelled and have wear facets on one edge. The integral cast shank (loop) is attached to one edge of the rear of the button (head) and offset at approximately 75 degrees to the plane of the head. A complete gold and gem finger ring, of Medieval dating (AD 1200 to AD 1500). The finger ring comprises an integral cylindrical bezel and a rectangular sectioned hoop. The shoulders are rectangular in shape, decorated with five parallel engraved grooves on one side and six grooves on the other. The shoulders 3.4 mm wide and 1.8 mm long. At the shoulders, the hoop is 3.0 mm wide and 1.1 mm thick. The hoop gradually reduces in width until it is 1.8 mm wide and 1.1 mm thick at the back of the finger ring. A copper alloy Roan T-shape brooch dating to the period c. AD 50 - 150. The cylindrical wings hold the remains of the copper alloy axis bar. The remains of the hinged pin are visible in the pin slot which sits between the wings. The pin terminates in an old break. The tip of each wing is decorated by two concentric grooves running parallel to each other. There is a raised ridge on either side of the junction between the wings and the bow. A rear hook Colchester derivative brooch, probably Mackreth type CD RH 4.k. Semi-tubular wings probably with a single moulding at either end are met by a plain D section bow, which tapers towards a plain foot with an unpierced catch plate behind it. A break at the upper edge of the wings may indicate the loss of a tiny rearward pointing hook. A small blob of white concretion at one end of the wings may include a particle of a copper alloy axis bar for the mounting of the spring (now lost). Suggested date: Early Roman, 55-70.
