Copper alloy possible knife pommel. Cast sub-spherical object with a wide central aperture of diameter 9.3mm now filled by compacted rust, though with an off-centre hole of length c.4mm through this blockage. It is suggested this object may have served as a pommel cap for a whittle tanged knife or tool, whose tang has left both the rust from its decay and a void from its post-depositional loss. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1700.

Lead and iron probable seal fragment. Cast sub-rectangular billet of lead with a strand of corroded steel wire probably embedded in one corner. Lightly patinated. Both sides bear a stamped relief legend. One, probably a display face, bears the letters US within a circumferential label in which the letters [--]BH[--] remain legible. The reverse bears a central stud bearing the relief legend: MERIT W&NS and circumferential lettering around it on a separate label: [--][S & CO. VU[--]. The object was probably attached to a closed consignment of goods. Suggested date: probably Modern, 1900…
