A copper-alloy pin of probable Roman date. It has a globular head that has a slightly tapering underside giving it a hemispherical form. Beneath the head is a narrow waist and single transverse collar, below which extends the integral shaft. This is cylindrical in form and tapers to a sharp point. The entire object has a dark brown patina and measures 74.01mm in length, 6.22mm in diameter at head, 1.84mm in diameter at shaft, and 2.23g in weight. A complete copper alloy buckle of early-medieval date. The buckle is D-shaped in plan and circular in section with a narrowed and recessed strap bar. The outer edge of the frame is wide and decorated with parallel curved incisions giving a twisted rope-like effect and the pin no longer remains. Where the frame meets the strap bar it terminates in zoomorphic knops which are most probably crude representations of animal heads confronting across the bar.
