Copper alloy cosmetic mortar dating from the late Iron Age to early Roman periods (100 BC to AD 200). The mortar is formed of a curved bar with a 'V'-shaped cross section. From the apex of the curve, on the lower edge, projects a 'D'-shaped tab with an off-centre perforation. Cosmetic mortars such as this would have formed part of cosmetic sets, the now missing corresponding pestle allowing for the grinding of small amounts of cosmetic powders. A fragment of a copper alloy terminal from a rowel spur arm, dating to the Post Medieval period (16th to 17th Centuries AD). The fragment consists of a double looped terminal, each with a circular perforations (hole). From the terminal extends the arm which is 'D'-shaped in cross-section, with a flat reverse and curved outer face. The arm end terminates with a lateral collar, slightly wider the arm. A complete Post Medieval cast lead alloy uniface token, dating from c. AD 1550-c. 1800. Powell Type 6. The token has a raised design of a sailing ship to the obverse,the reverse being blank.There is a small section missing to the rim of the token. This token is grey with off-white corrosion products. Diameter: 16.83mm. Thickness 1.39mm Weight:2.2g. Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely.
