A strap-end fragment consisting of part of the attachment end and part of a decorated panel. The attachment end is split to take the strap, but no rivet holes survive. There is a hint of a single ring-and-dot motif. The decorated panel has ornament of engraved lines; there is a single-line border, and at the top a U-shaped curve in the centre. Below this are two further curved lines which may represent eyebrows, with widely set eyes each consisting of a small curved line below the eyebrows at the edge of the panel. A medieval cast copper alloy buckle with a rectangular frame with a wide outer edge which has a pin seat with two grooves. The buckle has a plain tapering sheet plate with a single rivet hole at the terminal. The rivet hole now has a narrow wire loop in situ, presumably a repair. Cf. Egan and Pritchard, Dress Accessories nos. 434-436.
